Change is everywhere! Some good, some hard, and some just downright fun. Let me fill you in on a few little things that have been going on. Since we last spoke, the Boss has let my least favorite co-worker start working on changing our safety plan. Sometimes I am really perplexed as to why he keeps giving her more and more to do. The more he gives, the longer she is going to have to stick around, which might not be a bad thing since she has been feeding me on the mornings the Boss forgets. (Don’t tell her I said that though--it will go right to her head.) Also, I can feel that the weather is going to start changing in a month or so which, for a blue heeler like me, is always a welcomed relief.
The first exciting change is that the Denver Broncos will have their first preseason game in a few weeks. Go, Broncos!
Another change I've heard about is that Hank (the other and less important dog) has actually been getting to go to work more often than I have and will be seen hanging around Harrison Family Builders more from now on. Now, this is nice in some ways because he is another dog, which a lot of times is better than having that cat around. Oh, that cat! I don't know why the Boss lets her live here. Anyway, having Hank around can be nerve wracking because he has no sense of safety. He climbs over my back yard fence, jumps out of the bed of the pickup, and tries to catch the forks on the forklift, which I know for sure is a safety violation. One good thing though, he does like to chase rabbits and other animals that move too fast for me. So maybe together we can actually catch something. If the Boss feels the need to add someone to our team, it might as well be Hank and that guy who follows him around.
All this talk about change makes me excited for the new but miss the old. I heard my co-worker say, “You can’t live in the past, Denver.” But if I could, I would chose the times before my co-worker came on the scene. That cat says, “The more you try to live in the past, the more sad you get,” so, before my eyelids get too heavy for me to finish our conversation, I will point you to the best place for help with change--the scriptures.
“To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance”
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
